Fry one pound chopped bacon ends with one large diced yellow onion
add a couple heaping tablespoons of lard.
Pour cooked bacon/onion over beans (don't drain)
After eating beans cooked in a pound of bacon's worth of fat, plus some extra lard, there is only one rule to follow.

        NEVER trust a fart.

They have some of the best stuff. LOVE their Burger delux. Can't for the life of me figure out why the use MSG in their seasoning mixes though...
made me stop using it when I saw that...broke my heart too.

personal preference...I'd just rather not eat it. I use their reg spices all the time. Chili powder, garlic, comino, etc...

most studies say no problems with it. I guess I'm part of the 1% that just doesn't tolerate it well.

Cook the beans in a crock pot over low hear all night. Add 1 pound sausage, one pound bacon, 1 can rotel, and some weber steak seasoning.

Cook them the day before, put on ice after cooling down, then re-heat slowly and turn in the next day. Makes them thick and pulls the flavor into the bean...

                        cosmiccowboy pinto beans

Fry one pound chopped bacon ends with one large diced yellow onion till all fat is rendered and bacon is crisp, add several pods of crushed garlic towards end. If you really want to go "over the top" also add a couple heaping tablespoons of lard.
Put two pounds (cleaned) beans in bottom of pot. I don't pre-soak
Pour cooked bacon/onion over beans (don't drain)
Add one can Hatch diced tomatoes and green chili (with juice)
Add one can Hatch diced tomatoes and jalapeno (with juice)
Add 6 tablespoons Bolners Fiesta bean seasoning
Cover with water about 1 1/2"
bring to a rolling boil then simmer for at least three hours
Add salt right at the end to taste.

If you have to add water add hot water.
ok....I used this recipe for my wife's shower...cooked for 80+ people, so I basically 5x this recipe. needed a little bit at the end so I added a bottle of my level 2 heat hot salt. They were incredible.

This is my go to bean recipe from now on. Gonna try chorizo the next time I make it...with the same rest of the recipe. Always fun to play around with cooking.
