Me and a group hunted in Van Horn on the Britton Ranches. Shot 2 Mule deer and Couple of Aoudads. Hard Hunt. Not sure about Fort Davis though!

Have a hunt booked there for the second week in December, will be my first mule deer hunt, the ranch we are on is close to the observatory(sp). Anyone with advice would be appreciated!

Mule Deer Fort Davis

I've hunted three different ranches with Britton Ranches in the immediate area of the Observatory. It seems like their herd count is up in that area with above average recent rainfall. I got two mulies and a nice Audad. Historically, the best hunting spots are tough to come by out in this area as most ranches don't allow hunters access.

Anyone have anymore info on this place? Talked with this guy today about a couple places he has. Does he run a decent hunting operation or do I need to stay away from this guy?

I hunted with him last christmas. Good guy, interesting guy, loves hunting and talking about hunting! Couldn't get him off the phone when I would call with questions! I would have hunted with him again this year, but low on $$$. I hunted a pasture next to the Mcdonald Observatory. Hard hunt but fun.
