I went to the Busy B Ranch the beginning of April. A couple of months prior to the hunt, I contacted Jason and informed him of my desire for a bowhunt for exotics, specifically, an Axis. Animal prices were posted on the website and were confirmed by a price list he sent me. On my arrival, I reiterated my intention to bowhunt. The morning of my first hunt, it was explained to me that they were not prepared for me to bowhunt, but they would make a setup for the evening. That evening, as we were walking out to the blind, Jason informed me of the animal prices which were as much as twice the prices listed on the website and sent to me in the mail. The few animals that I saw were very skittish with the new setup, and did not present a shot. Of course, I wasn't going to shoot anything anyways with the new, much higher prices he had established. The hunting was very disappointing. If I had wanted to pay the new prices he was charging, I would have gone to the YO, instead of driving 7 1/2 hours to the other side of Texas. They advertised one set of prices and then changed them on my arrival. This was unethical.
The accomodations were, however, wonderful - clean, cozy, great for the kids. The lake was beautiful. The fishing was very tough as they are very heavily fished.
Overall impression: Great place to take the kids. Not a good place to hunt.
