It surprises me that in Texas Bowhunting Keith always gets good ratings. However in the Texas Hunting Forum people have nothing positive to say about the quality of animals, bunk house and animal pressure. Everyone always does say he is a super nice guy. I tried to go there once but he would never return my calls.

I think for the price the quality of animal is great, and yes they are hunted day in and day out. And the lodging is man town for sure, but in my opinion it is what I like when I am hunting (not holiday inn). It is hunting and there are no guarantees, I would keep trying him, worth the trip.

No doubt KJO is the cheapest hunt I have seen. However still $500 is a pretty big gamble, and after being burnt with no trophy fees in the past I dont hunt that way anymore. If I want to risk paying and not killing I will go to my deer lease. Where I can ride, shoot, and camp (family time). Almost every ranch in Texas that doesnt have trophy fees is similar: the only way they can make money is to hope that only 50% or less kills combined with immature animals. They cant afford for everyone to kill and they cant afford to feed or buy mature animals. There is absolutley a market for that type of hunter and nothing wrong with it either. However I want to hunt mature animals and have no pressure if I dont kill I just paid for some lodging. The way these hunts are set up is that you feel pressured to shoot the first thing you see. Its all in the odds...I appreciate both types of ranches and support them all and understand the financial pressure...
