Finished day with 1 buck, about 12 turkeys and lost count of fox squirrels

Lots of sign but starting to think they recently moved out?

Back at camp wearing shorts and tshirt

They are probably laid up with this warm weather. Supposed to be some rain possible tomorrow. Be ready, they may move to feed before it rains.

Had a pretty good day today. Had a shooter at 35 yards but wasn't a hagerman giant and seen about 6 or 7 other young bucks. My buddy seen a young buck and stuck 2 pigs.

Front coming in Sunday evening. Cooling down overnight and Monday. Monday's high in the mid 50s. My bet is on Sunday, for those that stay.

How many hunters are on the Godwin unit? it usually has the least amount of hunters

Pretty easy to sum up my day. The worst day I’ve ever had at Hagerman. If I don’t see anything by 11 tomorrow I’ll be moving units. All the sign is there but I guess they have moved on. Will be back at it bright and early ready to stick a giant!!’

are yall set up on acorns? the rut is over and they are back on feeding pattern. luckily, i have a job where i can "scout" pretty much daily.. but im about 30 miles south. for around here, seems like the shooters have made their way back into hiding. just does and young bucks hitting acorns hard again.

My goodness it was bad for many today! Where I was, not so bad.
I saw a young 8 point, about a 15" spread at 20 yards. In fact I drew on him and thought, no, I can shoot one like you at home. Saw a fork horn and later in the day saw one of those nontypicals that Hagerman is famous for but through the brush and no shot op.
I am in a spot with only cell service, no real signal so no internet Peaceful and I was cool enough I kept my heavyweight shirt layered on. Wind was minimal.
Someone shot a doe. I'll let him tell the story, if he is so inclined.
I can't get my picture to post straight up so I won't mess with it unless someone can help me figure out why it keeps rotating them and what to do about it.

I seen 3 bucks and one doe all within 100yrds of me, but only a spike gave me a shot opportunity and I gave him a pass.
It was pretty windy all day long at my spot and forced me to keep a hoodie on all day.
12hrs in a tree is hard on the butt and back.
Hopping to stick a giant in the morning.
                      Good luck fellas!

Up and eating breakfast looks like a small rain system about to roll through

Not interested in getting wet so waiting on it to pass before hitting the woods

Probably be gone by time we get to where we are parking I would imagine
                        Hopefully stirs things up

                              Ready for a new day!

Yesterday was gone , saw a doe and two young bucks right at dark.

God blesses all of us, and keeps us safe!

I was fortunate to have the first deer checked in yesterday. A nice mature doe I shot at around 8:30a, broadside at 20 yards. Waited about an hour then my son and I started tracking. Knew it was a solid hit and had blood trail. Even my color blind eyes could see much of it but my son is an amazing blood tracker and kept us going steadily along. Shockingly the blood trail went on and on and on. After about an hour, we saw buzzards circling ahead. I looked down into gully and saw 2 coyotes. We got down there and there she was ‐ with a front shoulder detached and eaten, ribs eaten, no eyes and backside eaten. All just 2 hours from when she was shot. I had heard about the Hagerman Coyotes and its clearly no joke - they get on it QUICK. Now it's time for a Big Daddy!
