Well, I haven't come across him again today.

I did put an Oklahoma heart shot on a decent size hog about two hours ago--apparently he didn't understand that the shot through both hips was supposed to slow him down. Blood trail only lasted so long. I'll post a pic if I can find him.

Dang it. Folks, I'm sorry. Five hours of searching was enough for me. It was one of the larger hogs I've ever shot. I had come across him a couple of other times but he kept getting the jump on me. I finally caught him sleeping under a bush where I found him last time and I got up close for a good shot. I didn't have a head or heart shot so I put it right through his hind quarters in the hopes that he wouldn't be able to run. It was a pass through and I recovered a blood covered arrow in the bush where I shot him. Tracked his blood a good long ways and lost him in some brambles. No idea where he went after that.

Stupid thing is, I had just run into another hunter and we were both on our way out, but two different directions. I knew I should have asked him to walk a ways with me to check the next set of bushes, but I didn't.

There's always next time I guess.

Sip, snort, spew...flashback. Still LMAO...rarely a day goes by I dont think about a hog next door...kinda sounds like college.
