A couple weeks ago there was a guy and girl in a silver dodge pickup having a little party in the front seat of the truck in that same parking lot. I walked up on them from the west around 5.30 in the afternoon. Lets just say sombody was being ridden like a shetland pony. I slipt through the fence and carried on with my business.

Hunted between 6-7 yesterday afternoon. Lots of animal activity, but no hogs untill I was walking back to my truck. I ended up on the northern boundary between 6-7 and popped out of the woods just before dark and was heading back to my truck, which was parked just below the horse barn. I'm walking back, somewhat along the fence lines, and I run into 4 pigs out in the open close to the fence. At this time my scent is blowing directly at them, so I slip back into the woods and move down wind of them. They are in the wide open so I start low crawling towards them. At this time it's getting pretty dark, so I'm hoping the lowlight conditions would help. No such luck, I get to about 50 yrds and they bust me and haul it into the woods. Just before I saw the pigs, I saw 2 seperate groups of deer, one was all doe's and fawns, the other was a bachelor group of bucks - 12-15 in numbers, all were 4-8 pnts, around 4-5 good looking young 8 pnts with spread out side their ears.

Had a good hunt this morning. Worked the west side of primitive launch at first light. Jumped three separate groups of hogs. A single, a dozen, and then another half dozen. Shot an arrow at the last group, but must have only gotten the shield . The arrow was greasy and had hair on it, but no blood and I stupidly stopped to mark the spot on my GPS instead of chasing the hog. I circled that entire peninsula twice. I never found the hog or pushed the group again. Worked the east side as well. Didn't see a thing on the main area or the large peninsula, but did have some luck in the northwest area. Jumped two very large hogs 1 black 1 silver (which now is known as Silverado and on my hit list) they must have been 250-300 pounds each. Then jumped another 3 or so on my way out including a red one. Came home with just a measly rabbit. Did meet three guys from the forum out there. Was nice meeting you all. Hope to see you at GRXH or tomorrow if you guys are out and I'm hunting the same area.Last edited by Removed; 02-08-2014, 04:15 PM.
