"OFFICIAL" Granger Hog Hunting Thread

Good.. Im ready to cook up some ribs. I just got a new Martin bow that I am wanting to break in before deer season starts.I am alos hoping to get drawn for the deer hunt out there this year. I saw a nice one in March that was a wall hanger.

Yea, theres one i saw in late Feb that would've went in the 170's, he had a bunch of kickers also.

I was out at the lake yesterday with the family, they were cutting the corn on the south fields across the road from the WMA. I didnt see that they were doing any on the WMA yet. When your driving in from Taylor you can see the Milo fields have just been tore up by the hogs.

The Milo is falling because of the heat and dry conditions. Not because of hogs. It can still be harvested with a heston though.

what do yall think about the dove hnuting out there this year? Are they still planting sunflowers? I know last year they planted more sunflowers out there than they have in a long time.. since the rain is holding of, they should be coming in and holding on water sources.

Thats answers it, i thought it just looked like way to much damage to be hogs but couldnt think of another reason it looked so bad. Not ever seen much Milo....thanks

Dont get me wrong though. The hogs are doing pretty substancial damage to some of the corn feilds surrounding the lake. However, the damage seems to be rather spotty.

Ive seen lots of sign but no hogs in a while. I really have not had time to get out and hunt them though. I think I may start baiting my traps this week. Gotta get rid of these dang pigs. Protien costs too much for the pigs to eat it all up every day before the deer can get to it.

That aint no joke, but hogs do damage regardless of the temperature. I think Im gonna go out tonight.

Brand new to the site. This thread is a pretty good read. I've never been out to Granger, but looking to go sometime. Too hot right now for hunting though. I think I'll wait till we get a bit cooler weather - or after we get some rain!!

Just wanted to say Howdy to everyone and I'll be looking into this Granger place soon. Need to get some meat in the freezer!

Do not go there if you are hungry. It's not easy to come back out with a pig thats for sure. A good place to do lots and lots of hard but fun hunting.
