You were right across from us, the duck hunters this mourning across from six said the hogs were thick along the shore in the mourning on that side. We saw a group of ten piglets that were alone today moving through the thicket, and the groups we saw all had piglets. IDK why the TPWD planted all that blood weed (we called it switch grass in the north) but it sure makes it a hog haven out there. And it makes it much more sporting trying to manipulate there movements through it to get a shot.

Like they say, you pay for hunting public land with sweat, not with dollars.

It doesn't appear that they did a heli shoot this last week, and the trails are covered with corn, someone spent alot of money corning out the trails.
That corn is probably from guys during the lottery deer hunts out there.

I'm pretty sure they didn't plant it, its native, and just expecially bad this year due to the good rains last year. I think the flood could have something to do with the way it grew up this last year too.

WOW, i've never seen it the way it is.... your prolly right about it growing cause of the floods etc. Has anyone heard if there were good deer taken during the draw hunts? Ill tell you what, I wouldn't want to draw the comanche bluff area for a deer hunt, seems the deer would avoid all the hogs.

Got a doe during the draw hunts in the Pecan Grove area but could not locate it. This was on 10-24-08

She jumped as I approached in the high grass about an hour after I shot her. she was about 100 yards from where I shot her. She then bolted another 150 yards into the thick ravine.

I used very little corn where I shot her.

I used more corn east of there on my feeder.
