Well does never came in close enough to give me a shot...my buddy to me he seen a few big does working towards a cut by his pasture for me to take my climber over there so I did.....I had to trim the tree up and some of surrounding trees to make a shooting lane. I climb down and dropped a little bit of hand corn on the trails they are crossing...low and behold a doe walks out at 25 yards while we are talking and wrapping up to get out....lol sure hope she does that on her way back to the pasture
Sat this morning from 6-1030....when TPWD showed up with 30 senior citizens going on a birding tour. The guys with the department were super cool and apologetic for walking in on my hunt. Told them no worries, they had just the same right to be there i did. The seniors did look like they were having a blast, so it was a reasonable excuse to go home early and keep the family happy.
I didn't see anything but it was such a pretty morning that i didn't care. Last bow sit of the season, won't be back until gun season.
Strongly considering going to DCNF for a few days in November. Ive hunted the Sam for three years but haven't ventured up there yet.
Hope everyone else enjoyed the day as much as i did.
Had a mature buck at 10 yards feeding on acorns. Took my time on the shot placement, drew back and POP! String broke and arrow sailed over his back. Im at a loss for words right now. Going to head home restring and come back.
