Don’t expect that to happen, but just wanna know if y’all think a 9mm would suffice or if I’d need something with a little larger caliber.
So since we are an open carry state I wonder if that means anyone can carry on the public land. I also wonder if the rules differ since what we are actually hunting is Army corps federal land leased by the state. It might be best to contact the local GW to get a definitive answer.

Not for me. I have seen a few does with fawns and a little fork horn but that's about it.

Just orange slick heads sulking around like kids playing hide and seek.

Got out for the first time today. Did not see anything but got a lot of action on my camera. Most of the shooter size bucks were at night time still, hopefully the rut will get them active during the day. A lot of hogs around sunset. A good amount of doe action in the morning time!

Went out last weekend. Saw 3 doe on Friday morning but they saw me first, between 25 - 35 yards out in thick brush. Saw another doe on Sat morning but way off. Sunday morning saw two nice bucks, again in thicker brush. So... I am resetting my brush blind a little further up to see if I can catch them coming into the thick stuff. I'm not going in but maybe 1/4 mile straight up from the parking lot off CR125. Also, I was like the only one out there all three days, saw one truck Friday afternoon but nobody the other days. Will head out this weekend again.

Looks like we will finally get some consistent cooler weather next week. Maybe they'll really start moving then.

Looks like someone connected on a deer tonight! I have pics of someone going in at 1030am. Pics of deer this evening and now pics of 2 guys walking around I guess trying to find blood. If is is a TBHer send me a pm or post on here! Good luck with finding it

guess the hunter was not on here. Since the 25th, there hasn't been one single deer back on camera. Before, there were deer every morning and evening, they bedded back up in there. Just goes to show what human pressure will do. Plus, since then I have had 2 other different hunters come through area. Last year, I think there were only 2 other hunters that came through this particular area all year. One hunter decided to check my SD card but didn't steal anything. I am sure he saw not really worth the time and effort back in there. Lots of does but no bucks worth shooting yet.

Not me. It has been the same with my cameras. I had deer every day and then nothing until the last couple days. Now I have had one deer a day on camera. Went out Sunday morning with my daughter to a spot I have been hunting for the last two years. It was pretty warm and had lots of mosquitos. We didn't see a thing. We did come a cross a Muddy cell cam strapped to the same tree I usually use for a camera setup. It looked like someone just set it up recently since there were fresh green trimmings on the ground below it.

Headed back to CR125 area again tomorrow. Last day to get a doe before the buck only starts Nov. 4th as next chance to get a doe would be Thanksgiving weekend.

Went out to try and bag a doe one last time. Didn’t get it done but I got to try out my new sticks and saw some pretty good action this morning. Saw a couple younger bucks lightly spar for about 5 minutes on and off in where I know some does bed. Well the does showed up shortly after and the bucks started chasing, sadly away from my stand. But I had a doe blow behind me about 60 yards or so and one of those bucks came sprinting back, lip curled and grunting the whole time. I stopped him with a bleat and and he started trotting towards me, until he smelled his next attempt I’m guessing and took back off. It was an active morning for sure. My buddy I brought with me drew on two doe that didn’t quite get into the open for him. Y’all seeing any action???

Went out this morning. Sure wish it was still as cold as it was all week. Still felt pretty nice though. Got to walk in and set my stand without sweating or mosquitoes. Saw one buck, young six, came in on the same trail I took to the tree. I heard 5 different rifle shots between 7:30 and 9:00 so at least somebody’s getting lucky.
