Had 15 points in the GMD and struck out once again lol. Only thing I've drawn this year so far is Javelina at the Daughtrey. I've got 15 points in Exotics too so just maybe the next round will be better.

I'm still showing app received for Gus Engling Waterfowl at 5:33pm...

That's the only app that hasn't drawn for some reason.
Several of the waterfowl hunts don't draw till early December. They wait to make sure they have water for the hunts.

My kids were picked for the 1/5 hunt. Be happy to hear about y’all’s thoughts on it! This is the first public hunt we’ve done.

Saw a guy on FB that won GMD at Black Gap with 4 points. Lucky guy.

That'll make you want to kick a fat kid at K-Mart.

              Lucky guy indeed!

I had 15 now 16 points. I missed a year so most of the long term guys to the game are now at 17. It's irrelevant IMO since so many have applied every year since the muley only section was created and only a few have been drawn. Way too many sitting on max points in the muley game.

As if the points really matter anyway...

That sure doesn't inspire a lot of hope. Especially for a 10-pointer like me....

His grandpa just found out he has cancer and also g'ma/g'pa just let us know they would be visiting us from California the week of the hunt so there's no way we can sneak away for 4-5 days. So family first. I just hope my other son who also applied for that hunt does not get his spot in 2nd draw. I'd hate for both of them to lose their points on a hunt they can't attend.
Is it too late to withdraw your application for son?
may want to call TPWD. I had to withdraw an application earlier this year.

                      What hunts did you draw?

I've drawn 3 so far this year, well, "We" have drawn 3.

Daughter drew Devils Sinkhole Either Sex
I drew Antlerless @ Hill Country SNA
and Multi Species @ Keechi Creek WMA
Tried sending you a PM, but couldn't for some reason.

Congrats on drawing Keechi. I'll be out there hunting in January.

Do you by chance have a map of the WMA?

youll have to lmk how you do in December.

                      Thanks
                      Casey

I haven't been able to message lately either. I do not have a map as I've never hunted there. You drew the either sex category? My plan is to hunt it for ducks. If they don't have water I may opt out of going altogether. I'll definitely be calling leading up to that one to check on the status of things. Still waiting on that Gus Waterfowl to draw. Hope it has some water come winter time. Would be cool to hunt those areas of the state as I've really only ever hunted down in the coastal marshes.

Anybody down at Nannie Stringfellow for the Yourh Either sex hunt this weekend. Took my oldest son to try our luck at standby and we were not selected…..curious how the hunt ends up.

I duck hunted keechi a number of years ago. It was mostly wood ducks with a few mallards. It was decent hunting but not lights out. I use to have a map but can't find it anymore. I know it is very water/rain dependent for the duck hunts so hopefully we get some big rains this winter. It is also loaded up with squirrels so if the ducks aren't there you'll have fun with that if it interest you.

Gus is also very water/rain dependent, they typically don't draw till mid-late December to make sure they have spots to hunt.

Kids got drawn for Kerr WMA Management. Anyone have insight they'd like to share?

My son and I just got back from Richland creek Trinity unit. Doe/spike. We got two does. I saw a monster buck this evening. Mature, 20+ spread, 10 points. If he'd a had some time length he would make you cry.

The staff put on a good hunt.
