For any of you that applied for chap. check out STXBOWHUNTER73's avatar, that is what you get on the first evening of the hunt!
Last year on the Jan. hunt, 160" and change if I remember right. There was some good bucks killed on that hunt and alot of "the one that got away" stories.
Hope we see you again this year!
This isnt a tbh joke is it? Like the special hog tags you need to hunt granger wma?
It's all in the book!!! Just read the book. If you don't have the book, you can go to any TPWD office and pick one up or call and have one mailed to you. Ask for the "Applications for Public Hunting Lands".
I've heard if you call 2 times a day and leave a message, that your chances of being drawn increase.
Calling twice a day or any number of times will not increase your chances of being drawn - this doesn't influence the possibility of being drawn.
Best thing you can do to increase your chances of being drawn -
-Apply and each year to increase preference points in your Hunt Categories
-Don't make any mistakes on the application
-Don't leave any key fields blank for you or other group members
-Don't apply for more than 1 Hunt Area/Hunt Category
-Make sure your application reaches TPWD HQ by 5pm on the deadline date, not just postmarked with that date - must be in TPWD HQ hands by then.
-Double check the required application fees so you are not short with those
-Always go back over your applications again before mailing.
I send in for every hunt category for myself, a few with my wife, and all the youth hunts for my daughter. Will do the same for my boy when he gets old enough. As of yet, I have not been drawn for anything.
Don't really mind though. I sort of consider it my annual donation to Texas Parks and Wildlife.
