Very nice buck. My Son,Brother and I were drawn for the gun hunt next week at SASP. Weather reports say it will be good hunting weather in the 20's and 30's next week. Thanks for the info and any additional info you might have. My Son,Brother and I all hunt Sam Houston National Forest heavily.

don't know what info I can give you other than bring corn. You will be hunting from an assigned blind so its the luck of the draw. My son got drawn on the youth hunts two years in a row. He killed a doe one year and didn't get a shot the next. Godd luck and enjoy San Angelo while you are here

Thanks Toddcaster, I sure hope we see some animals, but if we don't were still going to have a great time. We had heard that we need to broad cast the corn on the deer trails. Can you see well out of there assigned blinds? Are the blinds off the ground or are they ground blinds? Thanks in advance Toddcaster.

blinds are all ground blinds and the park folks have cut shooting lanes usually in 3 directions. you have to broadcast corn in the lanes. The gun hunters get to hunt the lake side of the highway (fm2288) so the only pressure has been from other draw hunts. There is no bowhunting on the lake sided of the highway. Some of the blinds are a hike from the road so be prepared to carry in corn.
