    What camera do you have?

I have never been able to suck it up and get a high dollar camera. For years I have been shooting a Kodak z740. Just about all of my pics over in the 'Campfire' section have been taken with this camera. It has performed well and has surprised the heck out of me a time or two over the last few years.

Not even 2 hours ago, I had a brand new camera fall into my lap and the best part about it is that it was free! It's the Kodak z612 6.1 mp. I've read up on it and see very little negatives about this camera with many good reviews. I'm looking forward to getting out and seeing what this camera can do.

    So what are y'all shooting?

I am using a Cannon D30....still trying to figure out how all the functions work. I also have a Nikon Powershot that I really liked, but the screen went out on it and I can't take pics anymore.

I have a Nikon D40 with 2 different lenses. I haven't even broke the surface of learning what this camera will do yet.

Bunch of old film stuff that is not fun anymore.
Johnny, your 6.1 mp Kodak should do very well.

Where were you sitting when this camera fell in your lap? I need to sit there for a while and try my luck

Congrats on the new camera! Free is ALWAYS cool.

I'm trying to learn how to use this stuff right. My old Minolta film stuff has been collecting dust for a few years, and I've just been shooting with a little point and shoot digital until this year. I just about forgot how to do anything manually with a camera. I'm learning again though - by trials and errors.

                Canon Digital Rebel XTi
                EFS 18-55mm
                EF 75-300mm

                EF 70-200mm f4 L

This is a great new section of the forum.

I like to take pics and look at others pics.

                  Nikkor af-s 55mm-200mm
                  Nikkor af-s 18mm-55mm

What lens should be next in the case?

Jaspro what lenses are you currently using? I'm working on putting together my ultimate D40 package now, I'll either be shooting the 55-200 VR as my second lense or man up and spend the extra bucks for a 70-300 VR for my second lense.

I am using a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm. The person that has been guiding me in my photography endeavor told me the VR lense wasn't really worth the money so I didn't get it. I could have gotten the 70-300 when I got mine for $135 more but was told to get the lesser package and learn it before advancing to more advanced lenses.
