    Editing Ideas

for this photo I took a while back.
Foggy and cold morning and a Great Blue Heron that kept his distance from me. Other than a 30% or so crop to get rid of a man made structure I didn't do anything.
The picture isn't special other than it captures a very quiet and peaceful scene. The picture as on my monitor is very close to what I actually saw.
If you care to play with it, have fun, but maintain the quiet moment.

I'm good with that. While there is certainly nothing wrong with editing a picture to make it look like something other than what you saw, that to me is kind of a separate art from photography itself.

thought i'd play... messed with the lighting a bit. added a sepia filter and some film grain to give it an old timey feel.

the original pic really didn't need any work though. i thought it was really cool.

Mr. Bailey I tend to agree with Snakelover but I had to play a little. I could see the sun shining in the background and wanted to bring that out a little. I pushed the vibrance and saturation a little and then tweaked the exposure just slightly. Also sharpened just a touch. Haven't compared it to the original though.

Thought I'd play a bit too... Don't ask me what I did, cause I played with everything. And, I agree with everyone else, the original shot was really great. No need to mess with it.

                          Hi Bill,
It wasn't long before the sun lit up those trees in the background but the bird was long gone

My short term memory loss prevents me from remembering all that I did but this one looks a bit better.
