I got a chuckle out of it and I liked it. I have found the more I shoot video the better the videos become. Looking forward to seeing what else you can produce in the future. Keep it up!

Good recap Shane. Kill shot or not, entertaining video.

At least it was not one of those boring 4 or 5 minute videos showing all the bushes and bugs, etc.
Nice job. Especially the KAP part.

I hope to improve. Yesterday's hunt was very last minute, and I took my DSLR instead of my regular video camera. I'm getting pretty comfortable with the DSLR when all I'm doing is running the camera. But with no autofocus and a lot more controls to monitor than an automatic everything camcorder, it's not the best tool for filming yourself on a solo hunt. Just too much to keep up with.

As I was walking in to my blind, I realized I forgot to change batteries in the camera. I figured that I'd just hit the button to record right at "go time" and save power. In my hurry to get the camera going and the pig shot before the battery died, well.... You see what I ended up with.

At least I'll have some sausage to show for my efforts.

Yessir. You set the bar pretty low.

Dont worry. We've all done it. I forgot to hit record when my boy Jake shot an axis doe. Then pushed STOP (which was actually record) as we were walking up to the dead critter. It pretty much sucked.

This might have been less likely to happen with a video camera instead of a DSLR. In addition to the "automatic everything" you mentioned, there is a fairly obvious recording indicator on the screen. If you see a red circle, it's recording. If you see two green bars, it's on pause. Don't know if you have that on your DSLR or not. Just sayin'... with different equipment, maybe you wouldn't suck!

I've done the same recorded the deer all the way to the shot then I hit record button again which stopped the recording. I was not happy when i figured it out.
