The angle is your problem. Fixed head, mechanical or gun, the angle is just too much on that shot. The next time, if you whistle, they will stop, and turn to give you a better quarter shot. Or they run off. No harm

I often wonder what percentage of "it was a perfect shot" would be disproved if we had video of all of them. What the eye sees is sometimes not reality
