Testing stage for our new Trail-cam shade Enclosures...
We have lost plenty of cameras during the years to the extreme heat in Mexico (same heat in TX).... We ended up constructing some wooden shades about 7 years ago..... and the percentage of cameras lost to heat dropped significantly...... The problem is they were made of wood.... and had to take them off when not using because the weather would destroy them......
Now we are testing a shaded enclosure made out of metal..... Hopefully these enclosures will last for years and years..... and also, these can fit 2 trail cams... (one for pics and one for HD video)... once all the glitches are fixed we will go back to shop and make 20 of them....... The will be able to sit out in the brush the whole year....... the cameras are just removed from enclosures......
The enclosure is set on a T-post, and the top part has a hinge that closes and stays closed with magnets... (No more placing a cinder block on top so the wind wouldn't blow it open).. it should keep cameras at least 15 deg cooler.....
I will post updates once they are field tested and deployed.....
