Texas persimmon.
Fruit will turn dark purple (almost black). Makes good jelly too.

We have tons of them on the lease. Between the acorns and the berries our corn is a last resort for our wildlife.

Our property is scattered with them everywhere. Can't wait for them to ripen up, my blind has several trees in shooting range
