    Grouping help.

Well I went to shoot some broad heads this weekend to see where my bow was at. Gonna be my first year hunting with my bow so this is first time I've done this. But I should a field point. And then a 100 gr. fixed blade muzzy and the broad head was about 8 inches low and 6 inches left from my field point. And after a lot of adjusting between my sight and my drop away rest. My broad heads now shoot with my pins. But my field points don't hit anywhere close? I don't shoot expensive arrows(any suggestions on a good hunting arrow. $70-80 1/2dz range?) so I don't know if varying spine could be the problem or what. I shoot a Hoyt vectrix XL 28.5 DL and 65lbs and I quick fletch all my arrows. Don't know if any of that matters but any idea on what could be my problem. I'd like to be able to shoot 3d at home and hit the woods without having to adjust my whole set up for one or the other to be accurate.

You have an arrow spine issue.

What arrow do you shoot and what is the length of the arrow?

Set the rest to center shot ~ 13/16 and with the arrow running right through the berger hole.

      Set nock level

      shoot bh and fp.
adjust nock point for up and down flight until they are in line.

adjust yokes for left and right misses.

Right now I'm shooting blackout hunter 340s cheap I know. Thinking about getting Easton carbon injexions or some maxima Blu streaks or if yall have any other suggestions for a good hunting arrow. Arrows are cut to 29 inches I believe

Get a good arrow. Then you need to learn how to tune are take it to some One. But your bow is out of tune.

          List everything for now
          Bow
          Year
          Draw weight
          Draw lenth

Then will look at some settings. But you need to find a good shop. Or get a press.

Where you located. Have a few issues to look at then you should be good to go. I shoot CE Maximas and have never had an issue. They are a little expensive but worth every penny.

If that's the case there's not a spine problem in my opinion. Your'e right on target with spine selection if the arrow is cut to 29''. That only leads me to believe the bow is out of tune, a lot out of tune if it's missing that bad. I don't think an arrow brand change is going to make up that much. Sure, it will help, but I don't think the problem will solve itself.

How long have the strings been on it?

Strings and cables are only a year old. Zebra strings. It's an 07 Hoyt vectrix xl set at 28.5/65 . I had it shooting perfect(I thought) for the last year just target shooting. Try and shoot a broad head and it wasn't
Pretty. Lots of broken arrows that's how bad it was missing. (I've got it to where my broad heads are shooting straight and where I aim not. Field points just don't hit in the same spot

Last post was worded weird. Right now, I could go outside and sling an arrow at a deer at 39 yds and hit where I was aiming. But if I wanted to just target shoot my field points do not hit anywhere close to where I'm aiming

Your strings are 2 years old. I'm betting they have stretched. Bow is out of tune.

I replace my strings every year.

Once you get bow in spec.

                    Then you can start tuning.

I don't think he has a spine issue. Please don't take this wrong but that is a horrible chart to look at.

From what he has wrote and looking at chart what spine issue do you see.

He doesn't have a spine issue. We've already worked past that point. Hitting left and low would have fallen into the "Multiple Adjustment" category. I just like to look at the arrow first because that's easier to fix rather than have to take the bow somewhere to be tuned. I was always taught you tune your arrow to your bow, not your bow to your arrow. Maybe I'm wrong though...

Not at all I tune my arrow to my bow but the bow has to be in spec first. or you will chase your tail.

sorry I missed your second post.

Again horrible charts. Really bad for new shooters

Strings and cables are a year old. Replaced when I got the bow last July. Another question is there gonna be a bigger flight difference between field point and fixed blades compared to mech BH's? I know I'm probably trying to work around the issue rather than fix the issue but it's 3 weeks till opening day and I'm not looking to miss any. Not to mention closest archery shop to me that is worth a darn is 2 hours and I really don't want to pour more money into a Stone Age bow. I like this one but am looking for a new one come spring

even if you switch to mechanical bh, your arrow is not flying perfectly straight and is basically wasting energy. yes they may hit where you are aiming, but the arrow isnt hitting square to the impact. no sense in masking a problem with mech bh.
