I have several WGI cameras. The only one that has held up is the D8D. The 59.00 academy cams are worthless. I have 2, 3 year old stealth ir570's and they were good for 2 years and finally cratered. I have one moultrie d55ir and just ordered 2 more. They work really good for a 96.00 camera. JMHO

I just bought a Wildgame IR4 yesterday, this game cam yesterday and Bass Pro Shop ($49 after $10 rebate), thought I'd take a chanced on it and I'm having problems just getting it turned on! When if finally does stay on (it randomly turns off) it seems the movement sensor gets weaker and weaker. At first it noticed movement out to a good 35 foot, then it slowly go worse and worse, finally not picking movement up at 5 foot!! At first I thought it was the batteries, so I changed out the c's for an external 6v. Same problems. One distinct thing is the digital screen, isn't clear. It only shows half or partial works and figures. VERY FRUSTRATED!!! Actually there are a few other things that plag this cam that are also frustrating, but I didn't mention.
I'm thinking it is a software problem! I'm going to buy some new c batteries to see if this is the problem. If it still doesn't work,,,,,,,,, I would strongly recommend staying away from this cam. And then this thing is going back to the store!

Check the size of the SD card you are using. I also just bought a few of those IR4 cameras at BPS from the bin. Got them home and realized even though they were both IR4's on the box, some of them were older models than the other although the front packaging was the same. One of the camers on the back says it takes up to an 8 gig card, and the other said it only takes up to a 2 gig card. That didn't bother me but I certainly would have grabbed two that were both up to an 8 gig card. My IR5C I had bought from Dicks and the IR2 I bought from BPS in the past have had no problems with and they take great pics with decent battery life. I bought cheap camers as I really only use the cameras to identify when animals are coming in and see what animals they are. I'm not sending in the pics for a picture competition.

I laugh at the people who say you get what you pay for because my buddy who uses the $200 cameras has more problems than he can shake a stick at with those so called good quality trail cams. As for me I will stick with the cheap ones becasue they haven't done me wrong. If they do, they are warrantied.

I took it back to Bass Pro Shops.
I'm convinced it is a quality issue.
Lot's of people seems to have success with them, however and equal number have had similar problems.
