Wildgame IR4 Game Cam - PROBLEMS?!?!!?

Ok, I went cheat and I think I'm paying for it in now.

I just bought a Wildgame IR4 yesterday, this game cam yesterday and Bass Pro Shop ($49 after $10 rebate), thought I'd take a chanced on it and I'm having problems just getting it turned on! When if finally does stay on (it randomly turns off) it seems the movement sensor gets weaker and weaker. At first it noticed movement out to a good 35 foot, then it slowly go worse and worse, finally not picking movement up at 5 foot!! At first I thought it was the batteries, so I changed out the c's for an external 6v. Same problems. One distinct thing is the digital screen, isn't clear. It only shows half or partial works and figures. VERY FRUSTRATED!!! Actually there are a few other things that plag this cam that are also frustrating, but I didn't mention.
I'm thinking it is a software problem! I'm going to buy some new c batteries to see if this is the problem. If it still doesn't work,,,,,,,,, I would strongly recommend staying away from this cam. And then this thing is going back to the store!

We had the same problem with our fist one. We had a 4gb card in it and it would only take a 2gb. Once we got that changed out they ate batteries like they were going out of style. Truth cam 35 now with no complaints after a year.

I bought a wildgame innovations camera the other day and it would turn off or program out of the bow. I was so mad I almost smashed it on the ground!

Wow I am glad I have not had a problem with them. I have 7 of them but they are not the IR4's.
I would not buy a $49 digital camera why would I buy it in a game cam.

the problem i have seen with all of the wildgame cameras is there appears to be not quality control, we have several and some work and some don't, have had to send several back for replacement. the saying must be true, you get what you pay for

I'm having trouble with a couple of mine but I think it's the heat.

Try using a 1gbnice card. I thought I had gotten a lemon camera and it turned it to be the size of my card. It lasted an entire year out in WI from freezing to 100 degree heat. Once I changed out from c batteries to a 6v battery, that last issue was cured. Wish I could find them for 50 bucks.

You're just going to have to pay more than $50 for a game camera. Anything under $125 will be complete junk, you may get lucky once in a while and get something that works ok, but probably not.
