Tru-Fire Hurricane cost me about $60 and I am very pleased with it.

Just started shooting the Tru Ball short and sweet...I wont be going back to the caliper style releases. Look for a Scott on the classifieds in the near future

Thanks for all the recommendations, seems like there are 3 brand front runners, carter, tru-ball, and true fire.

Just picked on of these up and love it. Shot a bunch of releases before I ended up with this one. Try it out.

I only shoot thumb releases. I used to shoot a tru-ball, but just switched to Carter.

I shoot a Tru Ball Short N Sweet SS1. Love it. It takes some time getting use to because of the head on it but once you get use to it its nice. It will fold back out of the way. I usually tuck the head up under the strap to keep it out of the way from everything.

You might check amazon they are $20+ cheaper than bass pro/cabelas on some of the trufire foldback models. I was amazed how nice it was at the 3d range to flip it back and have it firmly out of the way not bouncing around like my old release.

There a Trufire hardcore in the classified ads for $65 I think. It's a great release for the time I've used it. Grab it while it's still there.
