I have shot them for about 5 years now. I myself have loved them from the get go. They cost about the same as having an arrow fletched at the bow shop. If yo fletch your own than they are a little more expensive.

I will say that if you try them the most important thing to do is make sure your bow is in tune. If you have problems do not give up fast, call Paul (the inventor - when you call Starrflight you talk to him - another cool thing). Tell him what problem you are having, what bow you shoot, rest, everything. He will help you.

I use them for hunting. ASA has banned them from 3D shoots, I really do not understand why. They said it is because the FOB blocks the small rings but a guy can use the big line jammer arrows & do basically the same thing.

Everything I know or say about FOB's has already been said. They are like everything else out there 1 person will have great things to say & 1 person will have horror stories. Best thing to do is order some, try them out & go from there.

If the FOB's are hitting your dropaway, then there is a possibility your fletching is hitting also. They are ugly to most people and some say they are noisy, but I have never seen an animal react any different with the FOB's as opposed to fletching. They may be more expensive than fletching unless you add your time for fletching arrows in the mix. It is also hard to shoot groups with them as they will break, but I have shot some that were not completely broken and they still worked well. Just like everything else, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and they are not for everyone, but I will say this, my opinion only, if you shot them and had problems, then something was not set right with your equipment or rest and they may not be for you, but to say that they suck in every way possible is a very big stretch to me. A lot of people will disagree with that statement. Again, this is my opinion and if you do not like them, then that is fine also, they are not for everyone. That is the reson there are so many different bows, arrows, broadheads and other accessories in bowhunting and archery. I am one that also does not follow the norm when it comes to choosing what I want to shoot. I do not on most occasions follow the crowd and try and have the so called best on the market. I like to try things that are on the edge that most will not even look twice at, some work, some don't but that is what I like about this sport and the equipment that is out there.
I would agree with this ^^^^^. I have been shooting some for about 6 months that Cut the Loop gave me. They have worked very well for me and you learn to shoot 5 spots(but I didn't like shooting groups before because I hated replacing arrows and fletchings anyways). My overall cost has been cheaper since I don't do my on fletching......I have also let some friends shoot them out of the their bows and they all got great flight and no problems hitting the rest.

Do the FOBs fit tightly, with no slop or play?

Yep, once you install the knock, they are good to go.

Just another tip... for anyone having slight facial contact, these things work great with Accu-nocks. As seen in the video above. They have a slightly longer shank than normal.

I have beaten that horse to death with ASA... seems the only thing REALLY keeping them illegal, is they're not made by Bohning.
