    Sight question

I have an issue where when I look through my peep sight I don't see my entire ring around my sight. I may see 2/3 of the sight and I have to adjust my head to see the level, then re-adjust to the pins if I use the level. After speaking with Hogdude, I've determined that I'm on my last set of holes for adjustment to move my sight away from the riser. Is there anything else I can do? Or is a new sight in the future? Drill out the peep sight or get a bigger?

Change your peep. OR draw your bow with your eyes closed, hit your anchor point(s), then open your eyes....... if you can't see through your peep it needs to be adjusted.

It appears my peep is lined up with my sight upon anchoring with eyes close. I just have to tilt forward (closer to peep) to be able to see the ring around the sight. What I see is just inside the ring. It's lining up, but I have to move forward into the peep to be able to see the entire ring.

I wasn't sure how others had their setup. I would assume seeing the entire ring of the sight is the norm. Increasing the size of the peep would reduce the accuracy as well wouldn't it? I guess my two options are to change the peep to a larger size, or a sight with a longer stand-off?

I use a large peep just so I can see the whole sight ring

maybe increase your dl by a half inch if you can spare it

I just measured the peep, and it looks like it's 3/16". I guess I can't go much larger than that. I may try increasing the DL.

get a 1/4" peep, you have a small guard or large guard sight ring?

The ID of the sight ring is 2" and ID of the peep is 3/16". I think I'm just jacked up how I shoot. On top of that I had Lasik in 1999 and ever since then I have trouble focusing.

RAD peeps come in 7/32 and 1/4 inch.
I would change my peep long before I increased DL to get circle on circle.
In fact, I would center pins before I increased my DL.
You don't have to shoot circle on circle if you are able to center pins well, this is how most of us learned to shoot.
We started the circle on circle style so that we could increase our peep size for low light shooting.

I've shot like this for the past 3-4 months and can shoot 3" groups so I'm not sure if it's affecting me. It's a self-aligning peep and like that style.

I increased the DL and it was pretty awkward and didn't feel right so I went back to what it was.

Reckon I need a bow press to change the peep?

It's safer to press the bow.

I switched out my peep for a anchor sight and have no plans of ever going back to a peep. No fuzzy vision, instant feed back on anchor and torque.

I'm not sure I could do that. I've never done something the exact same in my entire life. lol

You can custom fit any peep sight to fit your sight housing perfectly. You need to use a peep that's slightly smaller than the sight housing when viewed in your normal anchor position. I happen to use a G5 3/16" size. Use 400 grit sand paper and roll it into a tight tube just smaller than the peep size. Slide it back and forth inside the peep. Keep checking often, because if you make it too big, you have to start over again. This doesn't take very long at all. Once you have the size perfect, use a black sharpie and color the inside. Your accuracy will improve 2 fold! Perfect sighting makes for perfect shooting. Customizing your peep is the way to go!!! Hope this helps. If you have any questions, send me a PM.

You can do this with the peep on the bow... just be careful of the string.

Thanks. I got a portable bow press from a friend, and may get a 1/4" self-aligning RAD peep tomorrow and replace it. I didn't think about the sand paper, but someone mentioned a drill bit which bothered me a little. I'm hoping the 1/4" is enough. Stinking short draw length is getting to me I guess.
