    How to wax a bowstring

Waxing the serving is oftn bad when it is not absorbed correctly. That being said, before we mail out our bow strings we wax evry single inch of them and then heat the wax into the fibers. One problem we have seen with heating the string while it is on the bow is the affectbthe heat has on the string materials. I would suggest that if you heat the string upnon the bow that you let it cool before shooting it. All string materials will expand and contract with the temperature change.

Try rubbing the wax in with a piece of plastic, instead of leather. not hard plastic, but clear flexible like a plastic bag.

I believe you get double the string life, keeping it waxed.
