I’m on the laptop and look out the window, and who do I see?

The cat’s nosing around a rabbit hole in the bark to under the deck.

She has the ‘don’t mess with me, I’m working’ look on her face. Go cat, go.

Good hunting for your new hunters. Isn’t retirement nice so we can focus more on the simpler things in life? I pay allot more attention to the small things in life now since retirement. Well part time retirement for now until this most recent project is complete.

Yes it sure is. Work is a 4-letter word!

I stopped at the local senior center today, to see what activities/ programs they have besides the cheap lunches. As my 44 year old hunting partner said, “I can’t imagine you sitting at a senior center”.

After talking to the fellow who runs it, I offered to help them on fund raising, writing grants, a 30x40 addition they’re building- to help the real seniors. This rural area’s population 2/3 are 65 or over.

Bill That’s good of you to use your skills learned in your previous life to help others.

Thanks. Folks are funny here. I offer to help for free and very rarely am I taken up on my offer. I’ve offered to help a couple start up companies I’ve met the founders and no- they know everything and don’t want to tap into my experience. Same at Montana State and Montana Western business departments. So it goes.

BTW- I looked out an upstairs window and saw Cat2. Both accounted for and the dish with cat food inside the house is being eaten.

It’s funny how rural folk can be at times as you know. Glad to hear cat 2 showed up.

I finally got a game cam set up.

They’re eating the food inside. As cold as it is, I’m not sure they’re sleeping in the house- I think they sleep under the Trex deck.

But we’ve not seen a single rabbit or trapped a mouse

Like in a Dr Seuss book- Thing1 and Thing2.

They’re surviving the Montana winter. I put a bunch of straw in the house, they made it through last night’s -13.

Tough little animals, they’re sunning themselves on the deck at -1.

Awesome job on the cat mansion. While I am not a cat person, I can see how they would come in handy out in the sticks.

I’m not a cat person, nor is my wife.

They’re interesting to watch going on patrol and then stalking what I guess are mice- in the snow.

They’ve gone from Cat1 and 2 to Buttercup and Cleopatra. That’s as close to being buddies and coming i to the house as it gets.

Glad your mouse catchers are still with you. It is interesting to watch them hunt. We never were cat folks either but they serve their purpose.

                            That’s sweet!
We had a barn cat that was wild as hell when we bought our place 5 years ago. It didn’t take my daughter long to turn it into a pet…

Are they living and/or working together?

They’re working together and I have trail cam pictures of both near the house. I don’t know they go inside together but I think so. It’s too **** cold for one to stay outside.
