The progress during the week is a little harder due to work during the day and family in the evening. But I have continued to clean parts every chance I get after kids are asleep. Things continue to clean up great. Bumper tops look nearly new. I also removed drop targets which are not currently dropping properly and those will be getting a full detail at some point. Also took some time tonight to clean the lower portion of the playfield under the metal hood. Had a ton of coil dust build up

Me either! It’s Been fun seeing the transformation. Cleaned the drop targets this afternoon and they work and operate smoothly now.

Was slow going last week, but finally got some work done this week.

Was able to disassemble the two drop target assembly’s that were a mess. Very tacky and would not drop. Cleaned the coils, sleeves, and gave everything a good scrub with brake cleaner. Also have some new decals on order for targets.

Was also able to tackle the dreaded ball diverter that is located behind the playfield and is only accessible by removing playfield from cabinet. It was also very tacky from old grease and was very rough. The diverter is finicky even when clean. Was able to fully disassemble and clean that also and it now functions as it should. So hopefully it continues to function properly after reinstallation.

I am quickly finding that the previous owner had placed grease on certain parts over the years. Pinball machines are designed to run dry due to all the coil dust and dirt a pinball machine can create.

Also here are some up to date playfield pictures. Coming along great. Have placed most of the new rubber on field as well.

So cool. I love having a project like this to obsess over. Bringing something back to life is so rewarding.

Edit: In fact, I'm almost certain I've played that field before under a different name. Just can't remember what it is.

It wasn’t Taxi was it? Taxi was the predecessor to PF and has very similar rules and gameplay. Where your goal is catch all 5 criminals in PF, you goal was to pick up all 5 passengers in Taxi.

Same designers to both games. If you look at the very top of translite of Police Force you’ll see a nod to Taxi.

It's hard to say. There were a lot of them back then. But that field looks very very familiar. I was more concerned at the time in how to score more points than what the game themes were. And getting free games.

The fish are biting and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

Tackling the coin door on this rainy day. Not a great day for painting, but stripping is gone great.
