Got the septic in this evening since I couldn’t find any more T&G pine to finish the porch ceiling.
      500 gal. concrete tank & 200’ of gravel-less pipe.

          DIY Cabin build

Got the septic tank tied in. Covered up and ditch covered. Going to let it settle for a while then smooth it out.
Picked up the rest of the ceiling and got over 1/2 done.
That’s tough work by your self and this ridiculous wind kept blowing over my ladder everytime i got down. Finally gave up and left.

Man, this is coming along nicely. You’re gonna have a lot of good times at that little cabin.

One more thought. We used cattle panel for our porch railing and keeps the view nice and open. Quick install too!

I’ve seen that done a few times. I like it but I don’t plan on having a rail. I don’t have small children or drink much [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Excellent work! Lots more to this than folks realize. Kudos for making it happen.

Thanks, I’m 8 months into it, but I’m only home 1/2 a month so really only 4 months and I didn’t touch it during deer season.

On top of that, 90% of the time I’m working alone. So… I’m petty happy with the progress so far. Few more months and it’ll be livable maybe.

It was too windy to mess with the porch yesterday so I cleaned up the inside. Finished up framing interior walls up to the vaulted ceiling, and added a few 2x6s under the ridge to wrap a box beam around.

Today I plumbed about 75% of it. Still need to set the shower stall, run 3 vent stacks out the roof and run a water line for the refrigerator ice maker.

I picked up the rest of the plumbing supplies I was missing as well as the gas lines and fittings, some batt insulation to go behind the shower, pex insulation for the attic and nearly all the electrical supplies this evening.

By the weekend I should have all the plumbing, most of the electrical done and maybe start on the A/C units.

Here’s some pictures of nothing special.
I got the water heater roughed in too but didn’t take a pic.

Another tedious day of work. Got the shower set, one vent out the roof before the rain. Plumbed gas lines for the tank less water heater and stove.

Mounted the breaker box and started electrical and ran out of daylight.

                                More tomorrow…
