We had our kitchen updated to sell the house including painting the stained cabinets and putting in a quartz countertop. The backsplash was painted, and we decided to tile it. Home Depot 3” x 6” “subway” tiles.
The whole project was under $150 and about a dozen hours. I watched several YouTube videos on ‘how-to’ then went to town.
If I could do it, anybody can. I bought a $23 scribe cutter which did the straight cuts snapping the tiles, and a $25 diamond 4” blade in my angle grinder for complex cuts. Once I got the hang of the kerf and how to cut corners, it was straight forward. Oversized 3/4” outlet cover plates hid any errors.
Here’s some pictures along the way and the final professional picture for the home’s marketing material. Looks much better than a painted backsplash.
