Went ahead and cut the end of the propane tank this evening where the firebox is going to go. Used my sensit to make sure the tank was clear of all propane, then plunged away with the metabo. Should get a lot done to it this weekend as far as the big stuff goes

Worked on the bbq pit today and got a decent amount done. Going to drop the doors out tomorrow after church, and get them hinged & strapped. Picking up some expanded metal and sq tubing Monday to work on the racks inside, the propane burner and wood carrier

I don't have near the BBQ skills to even do justice to using something like this, but that's some dang fine craftsmanship right there.

Do you have a link for the hinges? Where to buy?

You can get those hinges from any metal place.

Smoker looking good. Are you using a plasma for your cuts?

Some of the plate I cut with my plasma cutter. A lot of it I use a 6" metabo angle grinder with 1/8" cutoff blades on. I actually prefer the metabo over plasma or torch. It keeps the heat and draw to a minimum also.

Is there any kind of high temp grease that you will use? I am in the process of getting my mind wrapped around a pit and was just going to use regular barrel hinges without the zert. My thought was that the grease would get hot and ease out over the pit or into the pit over the meat. Nice job though and beautiful welds.
