Looking good. How much heat will you lose every time you open the door?

Not as much as I would have thought. Temp drops from about 200 to about 175 when the door is opened just long enough to add more wood then back to 200 in a min or two.

Well I gotta try and seal up all the leaks. I was able to get up to 250 but that was full blast and the propane wouldn't last long enough. Maybe once the leaks are sealed it'll hold heat a bit better. Otherwise, I'll have to add insulation!

            10 2"x2"x96"
            30 8' cedar fence pickets
            2 lbs 1 5/8" deck screws
            1lb 2 1/4" deck screws
            12 cinder blocks
            1 16"x16"x4" concrete block
            2 small hinges
            1 latch

That's everything I used for the build. You'll still need your heat source and something to make smoke. I'm still testing it and I may need some insulation and/or sealant. I'll post up when I know for sure.

Got'er all sealed up today so we'll see how she runs! They delivered our phone books at the perfect time! Who uses those things anymore?

Sealed with 1/2 a phone book page and a blob of sheetrock mud! Sealed all the seams with sheetrock mud! Got it fired up o. Low for now to start drying out. I'll update once I can get the temp up!

How much are you venting up top? Noticed you don't have a chimney... are you just venting through the soffits?

There is a 1/2" gap under each eve. I think that's where most of my problem is. My plan is to seal that up and then add a stack with a damper.

Can I see the rest of the Dutch Oven? I'd like to see how you're getting the fire sorted out...
