1/2" walls for tripod legs .... hope you don't have to manually tote them long.

Wow a 20' tri-pod would be awesome!
Or you could dig some holes to anchor it further. If your winds are like mine(at the hunting area), it'd sure keep it from blowing over....
Just think how far you could see those deer coming in.... And at that height you could camo it to look like a tree....
Just trying to give some different options other then cutting it. Seems everytime I cut something down, I wish I could put it back together.

You need to make sure you got the correct blades on a band saw, if it is drill pipe it is probably 4140 material or simular and therefore hard. It will eat your saw blades, if you use a saws all , well good luck , it can be done but you will be more aggrevated than productive.
Your torch for your use is the best way, go down to the local welders supply and rent some bottles and come home and cut it down.
The 75 to 100 bux you spend will be well worth your time saved and the aggrevation that you wont have to deal with.
Torch is the only way that I'll ever play builder w/again. But if you do decide to try the hacksaw......please please please make a video of your efforts.....it'd be worth getting a laugh.
