You had me at "metal studs, and smart siding!" That's how I want to do my next one.

But that truck bed rig gives me all kinds of ideas that will irritate my wife!

I would just use framing screws to attach all the studs. Beats the heck out drilling and riveting them together. Self tapping or point screws, doesn't matter both will work with 20 ga. We use them all day long on our jobs.

I used rivots instead of screws because I didn't want the screw heads to gap between the studs and the panels. Rivots are much flatter against the studs..

Where do you get the metal studs? I am in DFW and have not seen them.

I did use screws to connect all the walls together and used screws to attach the panels...

There was a place in Abilene called Harris Acoustics. Some drywall contractors or retailers may stock them. 2 1/2 20 gauge studs were about $2.50 and $2.75 for the tracts. Comparable with wood studs

Lowes and Home Depot only stock the 3 1/2" metal studs. I thought that would take up to much surface area. So I found some that were 2 1/2"..

DO NOT USE 25 Gauge...You will need at least 20 gauge for it to hold screws...

                            More Picts

I finished the trim and got them painted this weekend. I just need to finish the doors and have them foamed.

I was wondering if anyone else has tried metal studs and if they had pictures.

Very nice. That spray foam is the cat's meow for everything from scent, sound, temps, rigidity, etc. If I ever get around to building any more, they will all have it
