Closed cell foam is a little expensive, but IMHO is well worth it...It should increase the longevity of the blind and seal out critters. I did have issues with the blind I sprayed last year with wasps. I think I did a poor job getting the metal siding attached and there were some gaps near one of the windows...It is sealed now.

Here come the typical questions.... How heavy do you think it is before the foam? Do you have an idea of what it cost you to build this bad boy?

It is comparable in weight with a large sofa...I'll have about $1100 in both before foaming it...

My dad has built two. one on a 8 footstand and one on a 15 foot stand.

Both completely metal and with insulation. Talk about cozy. Carpet on the bottom keeps sound down and I love hunting in them.

So about what do you think you have invested in one of those once its all said and done? After hauling around my last 2 stand that weighed over 1200lbs each, I think the lightweight idea might be justifiable, even if it costs a little more.

Weight isn't a issue when you have a skid steer with forks

Any updates on what the inside looks like with it sprayed? I've never worked with metal studs before, do you have to brace it that much being a deer stand?

I built a 4x8 last season with metal studs and left over metal from my roof for the siding. I figured it would last a heck of a lot longer than wood. I built it on a trailer and love it. Pretty tight too. I checked it last week and no critters or nests at all. I'll see if i can find a pic.

Thumbs up on the blind build. Putting it in a truck bed tops it off.
                          Thanks for sharing

Updated Pictures of the Closed Cell Foam

Here are the pictures after I sprayed it with foam. It turned out really good but I think I may need a air port or a vent to allow the heat to escape. It is very air tight, which will be great when it is cold, but not in those hot Texas Novembers...

Those are pretty cool! I'm in the lucky boat with you, having a skid steer with forks makes building blinds much easier...or tougher, depending on how you look at it. If you don't mind, what did it cost to get the foam sprayed?

Foam was $600 for both blinds. They are sealed tight!!! That will be good in the winter but not so much when it is hot. I may have to add a air vent on one to allow the hot air to escape.

We got them setup this weekend with no issues. I am pretty pumped at the hunting spots where they are located
