Lotta stuff going on. Thanks to TBH'er Doug for building me a great smokehouse just in time to butcher our red wattle sow. The cut boar is next. Lots of smoking going on. Other projects as well. Few photos from the last few weeks are below.
Other updates:- Got a local guy gonna let me hang the 400+ barrow hog in his cooler for a few days
- We got 19 new laying hens (pullets) and have introduced them gradually to our other chickens. So far so good. Got our first two eggs from our original hen.
- Two pens of laying quail (jumbo coturnix) are just eating and hanging out. Starting to get a few more eggs as the temps warm up.
- Got a contract to build a small shop (converting a 20x40 gabled awning into a metal building over slab with one 15' lean to on the side)
- Got a dozer coming in a month or so to clear fencelines (never been done) and make me some "senderos" in the back half of the property.
- Meat rabbits are status quo. Got one litter just born, one doe pregnant.
- Getting ready to start the garden and add a couple remote garden spots for potatoes, onions, etc.
- Made me a little water trailer to use soaker hoses for the remote garden spot SEE VIDEO: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB1j69aoFac)
Random pics of hunting, smokehouse, relaxing, smoking cheese and meat, brining bacon & ham, etc.

My grandson's buck that he shot at our place during youth weekend (October) was mounted. My daughter in law at Memory Lane Mounts (Livingston, TX) did a great job memorializing this for the young hunter.

Good job on the trailer . Looking forward to seeing it all hooked up! Bet your well water has lots of great nutrients for the plants too.
If your well ever runs low, you can always catch rain water from roof run-off (full of nutrients). I did that for my self watering bucket garden a few years ago. 10 foot section of rain guttering will fill a 55 gallon barrel in no time. I had it tied into 3/4" PVC running across the buckets with drippers in each bucket. Drippers come in various releases per hour to adjust and conserve water. But I bet you don't need that kind of system when you get your current idea up and running.
