Hey, if you get stumped on anything during the rebuild I know a few pretty good Lincoln mechanics. Just put my 82 blackface in the shop for overhaul on armature. When I get it back it's getting 7 inches chopped off the top and a new hood. Tons of parts on line. I don't know how hard your gonna run it but I suggest a set of Murphy gauges with a tattletale to shut it down if something goes wrong with it ( overheats, drops oil pressure). Oh yea, go ahead and have the radiator cleaned and checked while ya got it broke down. It'll save having to break it down later.

It's got Murphy gauges, temp and oil pressure. The only one missing is amps, it's broke. Thanks for the heads up!

I've really been waiting on the weather. It's either too wet or too cold to do any prep or paint. I'm gonna try and get it off the trailer today and replace the 115 plug on the side.

I know what ya mean about the weather! Picked my 200 up today and had to beat 6 inches of ice outta my bed before I could set it. JW Brown in Weatherford hooked me up on repairing shunts and tuning it up. Bought new door blanks for it and probably gonna get a new hood when I come back from Colorado.

Good stuff right there. Made me smile just thinking about the idea of your dad hearing his old workhorse machine running again and smiling at the thought. No telling what your dad all made in his welding years and now its your turn to burn some rods on projects!

Got a little more work done today. Replaced the old broken 115 plug. Took off the wheels to get a better look at what's underneath. Got power!! Need some help getting it off the trailer for more prep/paint. Every welder needs an apprentice or two!

Door blanks were $220.00. I've gotta weld the hinges on then get them primed and painted. I'm bathtubing the machine in my Dodge so I need to cut an access hole in one door so I can check and add oil.

Look up Lincoln Love online http://www.lincolnlove.biz/index.html . They have replacement panels, hoods, doors, radiator covers too but they are a little high. The hood $ Money Taker $ on their front page belongs to my son and is on his 58 chopped down 200.

Man I remember riding in my dads old F350 dually with my two brothers and sister. I looked up to him so much because he was a WELDER, nobody tougher! When I got a little older I realized how good he really was. He had a shop in the back yard and did side jobs every day he came home from work. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to pee, and he would be asleep on the couch with his welding cap still on and his dinner in his lap. Came in for dinner and crashed out in the middle.
