Well it's not a straight pipe, but it's a homemade stainless muffler. But I love the sound!!!

When you build your box think of making the lid tall enough to accept these. Tough to get into.

So I broke off the stud on the alternator trying to tighten the belt. After close inspection, it seem to be a good idea to replace it. So I went ahead and ripped all the hoses and belt off too. Going to the parts house today with my fingers crossed because I need to weld on my gate this week.

Hey Brian looks like you are building some great memories for your children also. Some day they will be telling stories about you.

Well.....the battery wasn't charging at all, so I decided to "fix" it. In the process I twisted off the bolt inside the alternator housing. I figured instead of fighting this thing first, I should have it tested. It failed. So it's at my local welding shop getting a new alternator put on it. It had a voltage regulator on it so it had to be rewired to use one without the regulator. I should be picking it up from the shop this afternoon. I took that time to put two coats of paint on the hood.

Coming along nicely! Are you going to go ahead and replace all the old wires? I did the wires on mine and put them all in a loom just to tidy them up. Still following...

I probly will, they're a little dry. I'll probly tackle that when I remove the face for painting. Getting in a time where money is tight right now......I'll most likely wait till after the first of the year to do more.

Nice build. That right there is what America needs to go back to. Quit throwing old stuff away and buying new... Start throwing on a few parts and bringing things back to life.

And those ol SA200's will last forever as long as they are maintained. Give me an 58 red or blackface over a new machine anytime!

Well this one is copper wound, so it's pretty much a red face.
