This will be the next feeder I build as well.

-About how hight is the platform from grade? Looks about like 6'.
-What size tubing did you use to make your "slip joints"?
-Did you weld the drum to the platf? (I plan on it, but wondering how YOU did it)
-I see the little angle iron "stobs"......whats thier purpose besides centering the barrel?

You might consider adding some feet on the legs to stake it down. Cut the same angle on both ends of your legs. Then add a piece of plate with a hole in it. Drive a stake thru the hole.

Anther option (if you dont care/need to stake it down), is to burn a hole in the legs about 3" up from the bottom. Burn the hole in both sides so you can stick a piece of rebar all the way thru, and weld it in. The rebar only needs to stick out 3" or so on each side. This will help keep the feeder from sinking in the mud.

              .
You wouldn't think with that wide footprint it could be turned over but we had it happen once. All we could figure is a big hog got his head under the bottom rung of the ladder then raised up and tipped it.

Nice feeder! Strong work! I'm with the others though? That pen is way too tall and tight.

Feeder pen size added 6 additional hog panels.
Jerp, going to borrow your spring-loaded "flip-top" lid design. Last refill was windy knocking down the lid.

                          Thanks for the suggestions.
