I bought one of those cutting tool off Amazon for $15 and am making Corona glasses for a friend's beach house using the jumbo Corona bottles. They were the only ones I could find that were larger and had painted labels. I did the burning string method first but the glass heights were inconsistent and the cuts were jagged. The cutting jig works well. Score, pour hot water on the cut line then dunk in ice water. Sand the edges and enjoy.

Had he been 5 months slower, you might have not been beaten to it. Either that or your internet connection is way super slow. Just messing with ya, couldn't help it!

We used to make them out of quart bottles of beer in college.

                              Casey,

Did you use a tile saw for the thicker glass?? I have a bottle I want to try that should make a good iced tea glass but doubtful heat is enough & too large to get straight. It's heavy when empty.

My sister who does specialty glass sculptures & blowing the in the SA area says I have to cut.

I do have some victoria bottles I could mess around with on the twine deal though. Those would be snazzy.
