An air boats totally worth the money for me. I really don't have a problem scaring ducks up... if they are rafted they aren't coming in anyways. The only downside to an air boat I personally have is no deep water... its made for four feet of water to no water..

Nice work on the call Sims ! To be honest, I kinda giggled a bit when you said the motor started jumping around on the bench . Looking forward to your next operation .

No offense ment to some of the others here. But I think this thread is about a mud motor build, not air boats . Carry on .

Really wish I was handy enough to do things like this. Me and my brother bought a 27 hp surface drive godevil earlier this year and just bought a new boat for it, and mounted the motor this past weekend. You'll love where these boats can get you! I actually am looking at a 16hp long tail right now to put on an old aluminum we have. 19 hours and the guy is asking $1200, very tempting, I'm addicted to them now!

do they fit the pipe, or have to be turned down to fit??

well they were supose to fit and they fit in the dom pip but the pipe they gave me was a tiny bit to big so they moved a little probably would have been fine but i shimmed them with almuminum from an aluminum can and some superglue to keep them from sliding off.

do you plan to put set screws through the pipe and into the bushing as well?

what size pipe is the main shaft?
