i built one several years ago for a 6.5hp for a 10'ft boat...was pretty cool. watch those bronze bushings, they get HOT...even underwater.
i guess i did a crappy job on myframe cause it threw grease everywhere...

no the set screw just touches the outside of the bushing the pipe has a 1'' inside diameter.

the third picture in post #25 the two outside holes are for grease zerks and the center hole with the nut welded on is for the set screw to keep the bearing in place

the picture on the bottom of post 56 is out of order i appologize it is a picture of the bottom of the mount plate where the bolt goes through to swivel.

forgot to take some pictures so it kind of jumps a little i made the base plate from the motor out of 3/16'' plate. then used the pipe bender to build the frame. saddled the pipe and made sure the angle of the motor was between 13-15 degrees. Then welded everything up. i should get it mounted tomorrow and put the skeg and cav plate on, handle and igniton box. Top picture is the mount for the bearing that goes on the top of the shaft.

Might want to put a grease zerk on the plates that act as the bases to ensure smooth steering side to side. Looks good...
