I like the ideal but the turkeys in our area would empty it in a day, that is if the coons don't get here first. Still the ideal is great

We have lots of turkeys up here too. I set it a few feet off the ground and they cant get to it. Actually I need to lower it a bit. I went checked my camera last week and it's a bit too high for the deer.

I made a couple similar to that last year as quail feeders to put near my deer stands. Just pipe with a cap (loose) on top and then a T at the bottom. I used a couple of pieces of pipe cut in half coming out of the T as troughs which were set on the ground. I attached to T posts and filled with millet and chicken scratch. Worked like a charm but found that the deer and hogs worked them over faster than I could fill them. When they get empty the hogs bust them off the t-posts.

I thought this was a great idea so I found an old bucket from a hanging feeder laying around and some 3" PVC and bought a couple pieces and made me one.
