PVC bow

I needed a Bow for my Nephew to go shooting with me and my son but i didn't want to spend a lot of $$$. A quick youtube search and a 2 hours later and this is what I came up with. This one shoots really good with 42# draw @28". This is the 6th one I've made and have put probably 1000 arrows dow range with it and it still shoots great. It's made of 1" sch 40 PVC pipe and cost a whole $12 to build.

Yea I made one like that but this design seems to work much better. I flatten the pipe tapered towards the end which allows the bow to bend evenly. It makes it a little faster.

I've seen info on PVC bows but never with it flattened or looking like a recurve.

My archery club has a number of folks who shoot primitive archery with self ( all wood) bows.

How'd you flatten the limbs?

Having a hard time getting my iPhone to cooperate with the link but if you search "PVC flat long bow" on YouTube you should find it. This design shoot really well.

I flatted it by heating the pipe with a heat gun and then standing on it with a 2x4 on top. Really high tec. Lol

I ordered a 56" bow string off amazon and it works nicely.

Nice bow, saw this a while back, but never got around to trying it out. Gonna have to put this on my to do list for sure.
