Everything has settled some, even with compacting the granite. If I was starting over today I might spend a little more time on that step. The good thing is that pretty much every stone is now set in place and they don't move when you walk on it.
Weeds have not been a problem nor has the color changed. We love it. I just need to get a grill put together soon.
what about drainage from rain? Will that pose any issue or did you do something with that in mind that I missed in the thread?
The ground is naturally sloped there about one inch across the width from north to south. We kept that slope when we spread and compacted the granite. Water runs off of it fine and without erosion on the surface. The rain water on the ground runs around it without trouble. If the area had been level, we would have crowned it in the center.
