Now--weld a cross-brace between each of the short-legs and you don't have to worry about cows or hogs spreading the legs and breaking off the short legs--

What size cable are you going to use? And which winch? I bought a 20$ one and it seems to not be strong enough to handle a barrel full of corn.

If your winch is wimpy-put another pulley in the system--got to crank longer, but it's easier.
