I'm looking forward to getting back to the lease to see how the box is holding up so far in the heat. Anyone know what effect a full card has on a camera? I know my card has to have been full for a month or more. Just wondering what happens when it continues to try to take pics when there is no storage left.
      Looks good X!

Man seen someone do this using a heavy duty electrical box about a year ago! Was awesome! And I agree batteries get expensive! Not to mention frustrating when their dead and your SD Card is full of racoons, and crows! Great DIY/Money Saver!

My version. One battery will last around 2 yrs before needing to be replaced. Seems to extend the life of my cameras, also......but I can't prove that.

I would guess its like a normal camera and stop saving the photos. the camera will still take photos but not save them.

just went back and checked on my cam set up... i have a 16 gig card in my camera.. checked it last sunday and had 3889 photos..
all said, your camera will just stop saving photos to the card once its full.

thanks again Tgil, 75 days and my cam is still at 99%

Well, I was a little disappointed when I got to my camera over the weekend. I can't tell you how many thousands of pics it has taken since I put it out in Oct of last year, but when I got to it, it was at 40%. The card has been full since May and I really don't see how that could affect the battery or panel performance? The bad part is, because I've never been let down by a panel in the past, I wasn't prepared to address this find while I was there.
I can only assume the panel is degrading since it was an old one I had laying around, I'll start there when I go back.
On the good side, I was glad to see the box that contains the battery has held up to the heat!
