I just built a three sided box, with a lid, that is a few inches wider and taller than my generator. I framed it with 2x4's and OSB and installed fiberglass duct insulation on all sides. It quieted it down considerably and was easy to build.

Thanks for the input everyone!
On a side note: I bought a champion from tractor supply and it is quiet and it only cost $300. Best less bang for your buck if you know what I mean

Has anybody on the GS tried their hand at this?

We have Generac 6500 run for the travel trailer. Feeder is only 130 yards away from it. Hogs and Deers would still come in to feed. It doesn't bother them at all...I still have to build something similar to the shed structure because wife and the girls r bothered by the noise while sleeping. Thank goodness for being Deaf! I can sleep through anything!
Deaf can be good thing, I always joke...
#1) I can talk with my mouth full
#2) I can sleep through anything
#3) I will never have to hear my woman whine or b****
#4) Never have to worry about losing my hearing without hearing protection while using firearms!

Build a box!
