I'm really diggin the design, especially with the addition of the heat shield. I too, was concerned the bottle might get a little hot. Great build!

A conversation today about disc cookers prompted a visit to this thread, as a means of recalibrating expectations for a “gold standard” setup.

Figured I better bump it TTT for the folks that haven’t been around long enough to know what they’re missing when they fire up their store bought cooker!

Seeing this thread 11 years later reminds me that, while effective, my disc setup is still trash.

Mine got ‘lost’ in our escape from Cali to Montana. Multiple moves, gave away a lot of stuff, 2 rentals before getting into our retirement home.

It might be time to find an old Montana disc and start over.
